Kafunsho

Spring season in Japan unfortunately means hay fever (kafunsho) season for some. So those who are allergic to pollens take precautionary measures like putting on masks as part of their outfit of the day – everyday.

image

On my first day here five days ago I thought I had sore eyes, then I realized I was affected by pollens too but in my case I only have eye symptoms (allergic conjunctivitis).

image

Until today my eyes would be itchy and watery sometimes though it’s mild that I don’t need to wear some kind of special eye goggles for hay fever or take antihistamines. But my eye symptoms are there everyday.

Japan spring is very beautiful that you’d want to be in the parks and gardens most of the time but then kafunsho also comes with territory.
