Today’s Weather: Bring an Umbrella

image

Too hot in the country these days, so bring out an umbrella…and that statement isn’t illogical.

Men in umbrella. See what I mean?

Kafunsho

image

Spring season in Japan unfortunately means hay fever (kafunsho) season for some. So those who are allergic to pollens take precautionary measures like putting on masks as part of their outfit of the day – everyday.

image

On my first day here five days ago I thought I had sore eyes, then I realized I was affected by pollens too but in my case I only have eye symptoms (allergic conjunctivitis).

image

Until today my eyes would be itchy and watery sometimes though it’s mild that I don’t need to wear some kind of special eye goggles for hay fever or take antihistamines. But my eye symptoms are there everyday.

Japan spring is very beautiful that you’d want to be in the parks and gardens most of the time but then kafunsho also comes with territory.

Practical Love & Jollijeep

This enterprising jollijeep is selling flowers on the side today, February 14, 2014. In this storyline, it seems that the guy in black shirt on the right is interested to buy one for his office mahal (maybe). And seeing that he doesn’t have Almond Roca in heart-shaped tin can to go with those flowers, a jollijeep packed meal will do perhaps, to express some kind of practical love.

New Year Horns

Meri Kurisumasu

Recently in a Daiso shop I heard Christmas songs rendered in a cute Japanese way not like the cute singing of Santa elf helpers, and so the memory of that audio cuteness became tangible as it made me fold a tree and Star of David (as Star of Bethlehem) from chiyogami paper.
