As scarf

Not just any piece of cotton cloth, not just any scarf, it must be checkered. That’s the krama, an all around checkered cotton cloth. Something that’s part of the traditional garb of Cambodians.

Pouring oil on greens and sprouts. That’s the mi char at the side which I prefer over the instant noodle version

Small wok at the left side for frying egg. So fried noodles topped with egg makes a $1 street meal

Saw a man and his son fishing by the river bank using a net.

I went over to their side, and the little boy was helping his father transfer the catch onto the basket. He was also showing me the small white fish from afar,so I signaled him to come closer to show me his basket.

Sight of a green banana cart in a car congested city is something I’d rather see during heavy traffic than a vision of highly urbanized Philippine city where everything is contained in one place (like mall) and streets devoid of something distinctly local like a banana cart.

Usually, I’m drawn to the dry goods section in a palengke particularly the native stuff. Though some of the old school containers and implements can still be found in some supermarkets, yet I’d rather buy from these palengke folks.

During store checkout, each receipt needs to be stamped with a number code after checking each item with a pen and so the Landmark Department Store ladies taped the rubber stamp around the pen to handily do the ‘check and stamp’ job over and over again.
